Alzheimer's Support Group Without Leaving Home
by Suzanne Holman, MAEd

More Details about Alzheimer's Free Support Group Here here.

Have you been looking for support in the journey you are taking with your loved one's Alzheimer's disease? This may be your answer!

Once a month on the second Monday at 8:30 pm Eastern time you have the opportunity to be part of an Alzheimer's support group that meets by phone, eliminating the travel to in-person group meetings. There is no charge for these meetings, led by professional coach and counselor Suzanne Holman, MAEd.

After experiencing the emotional roller coaster when her mother developed Alzheimer's disease, Suzanne realized that she could provide great support to families going through this journey. When her mother was diagnosed, Suzanne found that there was an abundance of information about the disease wherever you looked, but there was little to help families navigate this journey. Organizing care for an Alzheimer's patient is unlike anything you have faced in your lifetime.

This responsibility for your loved one can affect your work performance whether at your place of employment or in your own business. Keeping up with the concerns of your loved one's care can be damaging to your own health and well being. Alzheimer's in the family can often mean traveling frequently to the location of the patient, coordinating care, and finding ways to communicate effectively with everyone concerned.

How can you find a way to stay healthy yourself and keep up with the demands of your professional life while keeping up with your family member? Finding the support that you need to find solutions and reassurance.

Strategies that Suzanne Holman has developed can support you in finding ways to take care of yourself as well as keeping up with work responsibilities. During the support group calls, participants share their situation and are supported by both Suzanne and others on the call. It is time for learning and finding out that others feel very much like yourself.

In addition to the support group, Suzanne also developed a blog where she writes about Alzheimer's research and ways to support yourself while your family member is going through the stages of Alzheimer's. She shares strategies for making it easier to keep up with work using online services and other technology.

Suzanne is writing a book sharing her strategies for success during this difficult time. She also offers individual and group coaching to those who would like more in-depth support. Whether individual or group work, it's a time to develop specific strategies that will help you to thrive and continue to be the productive and vibrant you were prior to this crisis.
